Quick Help: Error Codes & First Checks
Q. Dishwasher throws E15 after a spill or a small leak. What’s really happening?
A: It means the leak protection tripped because there’s water in the base. Turn off the water, don’t bypass the safety, dry the base, and find the source of the leak. If E15 comes back, schedule diagnostics.
Q. E24 won’t clear. Is it my garbage disposal or the air gap?
A: Yes. E24 = no drain. Beyond a clogged filter/hose, a new disposal with the knockout plug still in or a clogged air gap will trigger it. Reseat the drain pump cover till it clicks.
Q. After a kitchen remodel, my dishwasher started showing E24/E23. Normal?
A: Happens a lot. Remodels can leave kinked hoses, mis-seated pump covers, or debris in the air gap. Fix those first; if codes return, the drain pump may need testing.
Q. Oven flashed F34 after a long bake/self-clean. Fan thing?
A: Usually airflow. Do one safe power reset after it cools. If it comes back, check the cooling fan/air switch and cabinet ventilation.
Q. It’s 95°F in the house. My fridge alarms more — heat thing?
A: Happens a lot. Look for a kinked drain hose, a pump cover that isn’t clicked in, or debris in the air gap. If codes return after those checks, the drain pump needs testing.
Q. Oven flashed F34 after a long bake/self-clean. Fan issue?
A: Often, yes. F34 typically points to cooling/airflow (fan or air-switch path). Do one safe reset; if it returns, check cooling fan/switch and venting.
Q. Can hard water really cause dishwasher errors over time?
A: Hard water builds scale on heaters and flow paths, stressing heating/thermistor control and spray performance. Regular descaling helps; severe scale needs service. See all Thermador dishwasher Error Codes
Q. Power flickered during a storm — now weird alerts. Could it be the power, not the appliance?
A: Yes. Surges and voltage swings can confuse or damage boards. Use a dedicated circuit and surge protection; if alerts persist post-reset, get diagnostics.
Dishwasher (Everyday Fixes)
Q: What “first checks” solve the most issues before I call?
- Clean the filter.
- Check the air gap and drain hose for clogs/kinks.
- Make sure the drain-pump cover clicks in firmly.
- Look for water in the base (E15).
If the issue returns after these, it’s time for service.
Q: When should I stop troubleshooting and call a tech?
- Repeating leak or drain codes (E15/E24/E23).
- Burning smells or unusual grinding.
- Visible leaks under the unit.
Refrigeration (Everyday Fixes)
Q: Temps drift after a big grocery run or party. Is that a problem?
A: Usually just blocked vents or long door-open time. Clear rear vents, check door seals, and give it time to recover. If alarms repeat with normal use, book diagnostics.
Q: How do I help my fridge in hot weather?
A: Clean condenser coils/toe-kick 2–3 times a year, keep proper clearance around the cabinet, and don’t overpack shelves against the vents.
Ovens & Ranges
Q: My oven can’t hold temperature—calibration or a sensor?
A: Could be either. We verify with a calibrated probe, then check the temp sensor, relays, and control. Minor drift = calibration; bigger swings = repair.
Q: After self-clean the oven is noisy or throws airflow errors. Dangerous?
A: Usually not dangerous—just cooling/airflow. Let it fully cool, do one safe reset, and check cabinet ventilation. If it comes back, we’ll inspect the cooling fan and ducts.
Connectivity (Home Connect)
Q: Home Connect keeps acting up. Any quick wins?
- Re-pair the appliance in the app.
- Connect to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (not 5 GHz) with WPA/WPA2.
- If you use strict firewall rules, make sure common service ports aren’t blocked.
- Try a phone hotspot test—if it works there, your router needs tweaks.
Service & Scheduling
Q: Do you offer same-day service?
A: When a tech route aligns with your area, yes. Call 844-975-6696 and we’ll offer the earliest window; otherwise we book priority on the next route.
Q: Can you provide COI and follow HOA rules?
A: Absolutely. We issue Certificates of Insurance, follow freight-elevator windows, and respect building policies to keep visits on time.
Q: How does a typical visit go?
- Diagnosis and a clear written estimate.
- Your approval.
- Repair with OEM parts whenever required.
- Clean, tidy workspace before we leave.
Parts & Warranty
Q: Do you use OEM parts?
Yes—OEM parts matched to your exact model and serial to keep factory specs.
Q: What warranty do you provide?
A: Warranty on parts and labor (spelled out on your work order). If a covered issue reappears within the warranty window, we come back for that repair without an extra visit fee.
Q: Can you source hard-to-find parts?
A: Yes. We’ll check availability and lead times during diagnostics and give you realistic options.
Q: Home Connect keeps acting up. Any quick wins?
A: Re-pair the appliance, confirm 2.4 GHz and WPA2, and ensure required router ports (443/8080/123) are open. Try a hotspot test to isolate router issues.
Pricing & Quotes
Q: How much is the diagnostic visit?
A: A flat diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair when you proceed. We’ll share the exact amount when you call 844-975-6696.
Q: Can I get an estimate the same day?
A: In most cases, yes—written estimate the day of your visit. For complex jobs, we’ll send a detailed digital quote right after testing.
Home & Building Conditions (Why do “everyday” factors break appliances?)
Q: Can heat, dust, or poor ventilation really shorten appliance life?
A: Yes. Poor airflow overheats components and triggers errors. Keep the required clearances, clean vents/coil areas, and don’t block cabinet ventilation.
Q: Does hard water equal more dishwasher issues?
A: It can. Scale messes with heating, sensors, and spray arms. Use rinse aid/salt when applicable and descale on a schedule; heavy scale needs service.
Q: We moved cabinets and now we’re seeing errors—why?
A: Remodels often leave blocked vents, pinched hoses, or tighter cabinetry that traps heat around ovens. Fix the airflow and hose path first.
After-Repair Care
Q: How do I make the repair last?
- Follow the post-repair checklist we leave.
- Dishwasher: monthly filter/air-gap cleaning.
- Fridge: coil/toe-kick cleaning 2–3×/year.
- Oven: keep cabinet ventilation clear.
